Preparing to present in a venue or environment where you are the guest presenter can be challenging. The PowerPoint presentation doesn’t work on their laptop! There are handouts for 75 people, but 92 showed up! Your program has to be cut by 15 minutes for the earlier meeting ran over time!

- Be professional and decide to take the high road. Remember to keep a cool persona! You are able to rise above the circumstances.
- Smile.
- A pleasant expression on your face will help to calm you on the inside! And give the audience no hint as to the drama behind the scenes!
- Focus on the Audience.
- Exceed the expectations of those in your audience. Make them feel welcomed and appreciated.Learn From Your Uncomfortable Experience. Ask yourself if you could have prepared for the unexpected by asking more probing questions before you prepared for the presentation. How thorough is your presentation checklist? Did you clearly state your requirements for audio visual support? Did you design your program in segments so that if needed it could be lengthened or cut to fit the circumstances?
