chicago-bullsHow To Make the Rest of The Year, the Best of The Year!

By Dr. Willie Jolley

We are now in the last quarter of the year and I want to see if you are on track to hit the goals you set at the beginning of the year. I encourage you to pull out those goals and review them. Have you achieved any of the goals you’ve set?

In the event you’ve hit them, BRAVO! Now you need to set new goals to hit by the end of the year that will stretch you, challenge you, and help you have the absolute best year possible!

If, on the other hand, you have not hit your goals, there is still time to make this the year of your dreams. This is what I recommend:

First, you must convince yourself you can still hit them. Work on your belief system and get in the “possibility mindset.”

Second, practice the power of positive visualization. This will help you transform your goals and dreams into realities. The power of positive visualization starts with your ability to see and imagine the experience. Feel the joy that comes from achieving the goal. Try this: Close your eyes. Feel it, touch it and smell it. Experience the joy of achieving the goal. There is something amazing that happens to you when you actually start to experience the joy that comes from hitting your goal, even if it is in your mind!
Third, get focused to do the work to make it happen. In other words, it’s time to push your thinking and belief system to the next level. Put the pedal to the medal. Then take the necessary actions to turn your goals into realities!

You still have three (3) months. And amazing things can happen in a short time if you are focused and committed!

Phil Jackson and the Chicago Bulls serve as great examples of focusing and working on goals that became realitites. When he took over as their head coach, the Bulls had a long run of losing seasons. Phil Jackson took his team out to Grant Park in Chicago, where the city celebrations were held.

Jackson had them all to close their eyes and imagine holding the NBA Championship Trophy before the roaring crowd. Initially, his players laughed and joked and blew off his crazy thinking. But one by one, they bought into his imagination program. And as they did, their body language changed. They stood taller, more erect and put up their hands as if they were holding the trophy. And in a single moment, their lives changed. At the end of the experiential exercise, they went back to the gym and practiced like they had never practiced before. They went on to play that season like they had never played before. And at the end of the season, they had their first of six championships!

So, today I want you to take a moment, close your eyes and visualize that you have hit your goals! Experience the joy and the excitement… then go to work to make it a reality!!

One secret that gets me in the right mindset is to maximize the visualization process, is to make sure I fill my mind with lots of positive, powerful and possibility thinking information. This helps me grow and develop my belief system. I recommend that you read positive information and listen to positive messages daily. Go to my website to freely access some of my motivational materials and music (www.williejolley.com/free) that I listen to, that pumps me up each and every day. My favorite is the song, “You Gotta Keep Kicking!” It will pump you up too!!!!

Also listen to stories of others who have overcome their challenges to live their dreams! Your mind will be influenced to think, “If they can do it, maybe I can too!” If you get a “Maybe me too” way of thinking in your mind, you are on your way to greater success.

I also encourage you to go my website’s new radio page (www.williejolley.com/radio). Here you can get interviews from my SiriusXM Radio Show. Listen, be encouraged and inspired by people who have overcome major challenges and gone on to become successful. They will help you believe you can too. They inspire me and I know they will inspire you as well. Their stories and strategies will help you make the rest of 2013 the best of this year!
